About The Hope School
The Hope School was founded with one purpose - to build a community for all children to grow and learn every day. We are a non-governmental school that offers free education, moral care and support to the poor, underprivileged and orphaned children of Mbita town and all the neighbouring communities.
With the Covid-19 pandemic affecting lives and livelihoods in the community, the school has been struggling to continue free education and meals to it's students.
The school is located in one of the poorest areas of Kenya. Children aged 5-17 years old do not have the time to go to school because they have to work in order to eat. If they stop working, they can not afford to buy food for the day. Most of the children are subjected to an unkind and abusive lifestyle of selling on the side of the road, herding cattle and farming. Many children are orphans, abandoned or living with their grandparents which they have to take care of. Poverty is the driving factor behind most of these conditions.
“The direction in which education starts a man will determine his future in life.”
Donations to The Hope School are put towards providing free education and meals to all children. As part of our community, our generous donors directly help students succeed intellectually, emotionally and socially throughout their futures. If you’re interested in contributing, get in touch today.
